Just a few pictures of the reel seat assembly on my new lure blank.
First time I've used a cutaway seat. At the moment I'm liking it, but time will tell.
H&H completely shite at supplying other components - most out of stock. Used RR&Things for most.
Turned the duplon down on a mini lathe for trims
Carbon arbors for sensitivity.
Comparison rod in pics is a big nebula

Re: New Lure Rod
PS, whats your real name - You are Steve Bantocks brother arent you? I think I saw your work on the white MHX lure blanks Steve and Rob had???
Re: New Lure Rod
Hi Tim, yep that’s me I have nine brothers and sisters of which Steve from the Lagoon is one and Fisho the other. I built Steve and Rob the Snails Lure rods to their specific requirements and they were both MHX blanks from the USA. The reel seats we used were similar to yours but had the cork handles and fore grips. Nice reels and rods though.
Do you do many builds yourself?

Re: New Lure Rod
No mate, not many. Purely my own needs plus the occasional repair for mates.
So difficult to source good blanks at prices that make it worthwhile these days, except for beach casters. And I dont use those really.

We are here to help so anything you need, just ask. When it comes to blanks it's all about personal preference and so many to choose from.
